CIE LT Forge Participates in the “BeTech Academy” Project Together with Its Partners
UAB CIE LT Forge, together with its partners – the public institution LISPA, the Institute for Society and Business Development, Marijampolė Municipality, the Marijampolė City Local Action Group, Marijampolė Sūduva Gymnasium, and the public institution “Rainos svajonės” – is participating in the project “BeTech Academy.”
“BeTech Academy” is a project implemented in Marijampolė during 2025–2027 (Project No. 11-221-K-0001), aimed at economically inactive young people aged 16–29, primarily upper secondary school students. The project is designed to help young people discover their path in the world of technology and engineering, develop practical skills, and create opportunities to prepare for the labour market.
Project objective
In line with the Marijampolė City Local Development Strategy, the project aims to promote young people’s economic activity, improve their position in the labour market, and strengthen their technological, engineering, and career planning skills.
Main tasks
- To introduce young people to opportunities in the technology sector through career events, consultations, and company visits.
- To organise a 6-month non-formal technology education programme in which 10 selected participants will gain practical skills in mechanics, automation, digital technologies, and manufacturing processes.
- To create opportunities for participants to apply their knowledge in a real working environment through volunteering, voluntary internships, or apprenticeships in local companies, especially at CIE LT Forge.
- To strengthen cooperation between business and education in the Marijampolė region.
- To promote the project results and foster a positive image of the technology sector among young people by organising the “BeTech Innovation Forum.”
Planned activities
- Opening event “BeTech Start” – a career fair featuring company presentations, practical workshops, and motivational talks.
- Involvement of 42 participants in vocational guidance and career counselling activities.
- Visits to technology and engineering companies to provide a practical understanding of the working environment.
- Participation of 10 selected participants in the six-month technology programme “BeTech Academy.”
- Practical placements for participants: volunteering (2 participants), voluntary internship (2 participants), apprenticeship (1 participant).
- Closing event “BeTech Innovation Forum.”
Expected results
- A target group of 42 economically inactive young people will be involved in the project activities.
- At least 10 participants will gain comprehensive technological and engineering skills through a 96-hour training programme.
- Of these, 5 participants will reinforce their knowledge through practical activities such as volunteering, internships, or apprenticeships.
- At least 2 project participants will choose engineering or technology studies at higher education or vocational institutions.
- Stronger links between young people and business in the Marijampolė region, with closer cooperation between educational institutions and technology companies.
- Public presentation of the project’s achievements at the “BeTech Innovation Forum,” creating added value for the local community and strengthening the prestige of the technology sector.
